SPARK Creative Wellness Studio offers professionals within the creative wellness field to join our community. Mental health providers, wellness practitioners, educators, consultants, and artists who incorporate the power of expressive arts into their work are invited to become a SPARK Professional Member. Together we will nourish our own creativity, revitalize our energy, nourish our passion, and support each other in our expressive arts pursuits. Current Professional Members:
Jessica Chilton, MA, NCC, is the Director of SPARK Creative Wellness Studio, a welcoming space where individuals become artists of their lives. Jessica offers empowering Creative Wellness Sessions to youth & adults and facilitates community-building within a growing circle of expressive arts professionals.
Fran Ross, PhD, REAT, RYT, is an expressive arts therapist, consultant, and educator, as well as a registered yoga and meditation instructor. She is on the faculty of UNC Asheville Arts & Ideas Program, MALS program, and Great Smokies Writing Program where her focus has been the individual-institutional divide and how to bridge it in creative, arts-based ways.
Kat McIver, PhD, REAT, a working ceramic artist at Odyssey Center for Ceramic Art, facilitates spiritual guidance and expressive arts individual and group sessions, combining movement, meditation, and clay, to honor the soul’s journey through the heart center. She works mostly with women in transition, expressive arts supervision, and conscious creative elderhood.
Cindy Shealy, LCSW, RYT, is passionate about discovering creative and healthy ways to express one’s uniqueness. She uses the the tools of EMDR, Expressive Arts Therapy and Yoga to help people move through their life with intention and trust.
Katrina Plato is a Registered Arts Therapist now teaching Art full-time in middle schools. Her passion has become group projects that bring together students with community artists.
Kate Murphy encourages a supported journey into the unknown, encountering the many dimensions of ones personality, and allowing the inner wisdom, creativity and true self to emerge from the shadows of conflict. She has guided people of all ages seeking balance, clarity, inspiration, and truth by using expressive arts to access the heart’s wisdom and create space for healing and growth.
Laura Zeisler, LCSW, ATR-BC is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Art Therapist with 20 years of experience. Laura has a private practice in Asheville and divides her time between www.calmcancer.com and www.theartclinic.com.
Laura Torres, LPCA, RYT, supports individuals in tapping into their own inner wisdom and creativity in order to move through personal challenges and bring about the changes they want to see in their lives. She also incorporates yogic principles and techniques into her therapeutic work.
Sharon Bigger, MA, RN, CHPN, RYT. Sharon is a Registered Yoga Teacher and hospice clinical educator who incorporates the expressive arts into interdisciplinary education with social workers, chaplains and nurses. As an MA candidate in Women’s Spirituality through the California Institute of Integral Studies (www.ciis.edu), Sharon facilitates women’s groups exploring spirituality through the expressive arts.
Laura Elliott is an artist, holistic therapist and facilitator of expressive art. Her passion is to inspire the freedom of heart and the health of body, mind and spirit.
